Month 5, Week One: In Pictures

Month 5: Party Down, Out & About

Last month we hosted a Superbowl get-together, a Valentine-making party, and our annual Oscar potluck. Whew!

Parker was the life of the party and lit up at seeing faces of loved ones over and over again. Here he is with our neighbor, Andrew, rocking the hipster shirt in tandem...

He got to meet some new faces, too:

We've also been exploring the outdoors, going to playgroups at parks and listening to music groups at outdoor malls. Parker loves to socialize and mostly is not afraid of getting to know new friends wherever he goes. Here are some shots from today's outing in Bronson Canyon, where the Batcave was filmed:

Month 5: Here We Come

Parker loves to socialize. He meets lots of playmates when we venture out to parks and indoor play areas around Los Angeles. Our favorite is The Coop in Studio City, although we spend a lot of time at Kuki's Playshop in Burbank, too. Here are some shots of Parker enjoying tummy time at Kuki's before our fist developmental play class...

Parker Bear also got together with all his cousins...

Including the littlest Lopez... Annie!

Cousin Rio was so excited to see Parker that he figured out a game of ball for them to play involving a dump truck. Very innovative.

And of course Cali Girl reigned as oldest cousin, giving him lots of love and cuddles and feeding Parker a bottle.

No wonder Parker needs a nap!

Months 3 & 4: Mama & Me Pix

Month 4: Love At First Bite

First time in the high chair...

First time in a bib...

First spoonful of oatmeal cereal...

First solids smile...

Month 4: Brave New Worlds

In the last month Parker has taken his first road trip to NorCal, endeavored to master the tripod sit, and let loose a belly laugh the likes of which I know all too well.

We've also visited the cement boat beach (where Thomas and I were married) in Santa Cruz, with Uncle Matty, who was kind enough to carry Parker when my back was acting up:

And we also went to Wendy Woman's childhood beach in Carpinteria, with Grammy, where Parker dipped his toes in the water for the first time:

And of course, I tagged along, as mamas often do:

Parker also seized the NorCal visit as an opportunity to cuddle with his Nina:

Parker's personality is really starting to shine through all the quirks and moods of his "newborn-ness." At the same time those personality traits make Parker seem less "newborn" everyday. I think he looks like quite the grown little man here:

Parker is transitioning from the cradle to the crib, and experiencing a sleep regression at the same time. I can't even remember what a good night's sleep felt like. This, for example, is Parker's no-nap face:

And the first foray into the new frontier of solid foods was an exhilarating success, pictures to follow!

Here's a parting series of shots from my soon-to-be long-gone cradle:

Sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite!

Month 4: A Look Back
